
Wade Johnston
Wade Johnston was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He attended Martin Lutheran College (2000) and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (2004) to prepare for ordained ministry in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. He served in parish ministry for ten years in Saginaw, Michigan (2004-2014). He then began teaching at Wisconsin Lutheran College (2014-present), where he is an associate professor of history and theology. He has earned masters degrees (2012, 2013) and a PhD (2015) from Central Michigan University and Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is married with five children. In addition to reading, he enjoys bicycling, traveling, tennis and pickleball, weightlifting, and cheering for Detroit’s sports teams.
