Several chorale preludes are integrated, based on the hymn tunes GELOBET SEIST DU, GREENSLEEVES, DIVINUM MYSTERIUM, and QUEM PASTORES. Each is preceded by and connected to each other by the tune ADESTE FIDELES. The set concludes with a toccata also based on that hymn tune. Each of the chorale settings can also be played separately or in combination, with appropriate segue or finale options marked in the music, making it possible to play a short or long version as needed.
