
Timo Laato
Rev. Dr. Timo Laato is a Lutheran pastor in Finland and serves as a senior lecturer at the Lutheran School of Theology in Gothenburg, Sweden. He also holds the position of main coordinator and major adviser in the pastoral theology program at the Luther Foundation in Gothenburg. An expert in Pauline theology and hermeneutics, Rev. Dr. Laato holds a Doctor of Theology degree in New Testament exegetics and a Master of Arts degree in Greek and Roman literature. Rev. Dr. Laato’s most well-known books include Paul and Judaism: An Anthropological Approach, second edition (2026), The New Quest for Paul and His Reading of the Old Testament (2023), and Hermeneutics in Romans: Paul's Approach to Reading the Bible (2021). His books and articles have been published in Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Estonian, German, English, Spanish, Russian, and Korean.
