How do I submit an idea or a manuscript?
Presently we are not considering Christian fiction, autobiographies, poetry, or children's picture books. Please be aware that Concordia Publishing House (CPH) is the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. If you have a concept or idea for publishing that you think we might find interesting, please feel free to submit your idea to: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you believe you have a resource aimed at supporting the scholarly or professional church worker needs of the Lutheran church body, please click here to learn more about our two ways of publishing these types of resources.
How do I submit a song or music I’ve composed?
1) Send your manuscript with a cover letter stating what you feel is pertinent about the manuscript to email@example.com or to Peter Reske, Attention: Music Department, Concordia Publishing House, 3558 S Jefferson Ave, St. Louis, MO 63118.
2) The manuscript must be clearly legible in black ink. Computer generated (Finale, Sibelius, PDF) is preferred.
3) Acknowledgment of receipt will be confirmed by postcard, letter, or email. We hope to reach a decision within six months upon receipt of the manuscript and will notify you.
4) Include return postage if you would like the manuscript returned if it cannot be published.
5) We are a publisher of sacred music only. All text is subject to the doctrine of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Secular music is outside the scope of our catalog.
6) Lead sheets are not accepted.
7) We do not accept manuscripts that are being reviewed by another publisher at the same time.
If you are asking us to possibly include an audio CD of yours in our catalog, please forward the finished product to the address listed in step 1. We will send you an acknowledgement of receipt and would hope to reach a decision within six months.
How long will it take to get my order?
CPH Ships orders within 2 business days from the day they are received. Depending on where you are located, will depend on the shipping time. In most areas of the United States shipping time is 3-5 business days; other areas 5-7 days. Alaska and Hawaii typically takes 10-14 business days. If you are out of town when the delivery is expected, you may request delayed shipment. Please call our Customer Service Department, toll free, 1-800-325-3040 for more information.
Do you offer discounts for clergy members or professional church workers?
As a rostered LCMS pastor, teacher, musician, or DCE you receive a 20% discount on qualifying books, Bibles, professional books, and The Lutheran Study Bible, when purchased for personal use. The personal use discount applies for one of an item for you or your immediate family members where applicable. Any purchase(s) beyond the one item personal use will be processed at the current sale price.
Please state in the Order Notes if more than one item is for personal use and the description of that use.
Can I place an order for my church over the web?
Yes, you are able to order online and bill your church account. Your email address is your username and the password is whatever you have set up. If you have difficulty placing an order on line without being prompted for a credit card it may be that an email address has not been linked to your CPH account number. Please call our toll free number, 1-800-325-3040 for assistance or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have forgotten your username and password please email email@example.com or call the toll free number and a representative will be glad to help you.
Can I leave items in my shopping cart and access them later?
If you are not logged in, products will remain in your shopping cart until you close your browser window. If you are logged in, our website will retain the contents of your shopping cart indefinitely.
My church is tax exempt; how can I be sure I’m not charged tax?
Please call the Customer Service Department to verify that your church's account is tax exempt. Customer Service can also link the email address that you will be ordering from to your church's account. This will ensure that all of your purchases will be placed under the church's account.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time, cph.org accepts Mastercard, Visa and Discover.
What are my shipping options?

I'd like to give my two cents about new resources for CPH. How do I do that?
Concordia Publishing House is the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and as such our primary market comprises the congregations, church workers and members of The LCMS, then other Lutherans, then other Christians. We are a uniquely and distinctly Lutheran publishing house whose materials conform to the Holy Scriptures, the Lutheran Confessions and the doctrinal positions of our church body. If you believe your product has possibilities for our market, please email email@example.com and describe your idea.
