Best dogmatic ever written.

Martin Chemnitz is not just some old theologian who is useful to find what the Church used to believe. But is the main producer of Lutheran doctrine, even more so then Luther himself. The Catholics used to call him "The second Martin" saying "If the second Martin had not come the first would have been for not." A justified statement since Chemnitz put together the book of Concord, which defined what exactly Lutheranism is. These books are not only still relevant, but just as relevant today as in the sixteenth century. In style they are plain, which if you are like me and read to learn, is quite nice since He gets right to the point. Also these books are an commentary of Melanchtion’s loci communes, so the forward is from Melanchtion. Essentially you get two books in one. And since Chemnitz quotes to great length the Church fathers as well as Luther, you will understand the analogy of Church history.
