Good Keyboard Selections

I have been working through this book at my organ lessons. I have enjoyed the selection of pieces so much, that I am looking to add Volume II of The Church Organist. I highly recommend it to any organist who, like me, is not very adept with pedaling.

An essential tool

I have played virtuoso repertoire on important organs on both sides of the Atlantic but this little volume has been an essential in my toolbox since its publication in 1966. Alas, I've lost my copy and am now ordering a replacement. Yes it's that good, especially at weddings when you need shorts pieces while waiting for the bridal party.

Prized collection

When I started branching out from piano to organ almost 30 years ago, my mentor gave me his old, dog-eared, missing cover, singed copy of this manuals-only collection. I've managed to keep that gift in continuous use since then, but alas I can patch it no more. The literature and composers are impressive, the variety of repertoire is useful year-round for all types of liturgies, and the arrangements are very accessible for pianists. I am looking forward to getting a fresh, new copy, as I consider this collection an essential part of my library.
