Martin Luther is recognized in history as the main reformer of the sixteenth century. What is little known in our Latin world is that Luther was mainly an Old Testament professor in his academic vocation. His writings in this area have not yet been translated into Spanish. With this Commentary on the Minor Prophets, Volume 2, translated from Latin into Spanish, the teachings given by Luther on all the Minor Prophets from 1524 to 1526 are complete. In these commentaries, a deep knowledge of our sin and how God condemns it is revealed, but at the same time the justification through faith and the importance of proclaiming Christ alone shine even more brightly. In this second volume, we see the pastoral vocation of Luther that seeks to make present for us the prophetic vocation of the Minor Prophets. This prophetic vocation offers us a style of proclamation in which the song and dance of God overflow in a poetic tone to encourage and nourish, without despising our intellect or emotions. In this prophetic vocation, Luther emphasizes the active justice of God that counteracts our idolatry and self-love and at the same time raises the weak and dispossessed.

This volume also contains numerous observations from Luther on the pastoral vocation and the priesthood of all believers. Luther’s valuable and sound commentaries will impact our daily lives as parents, children, and spouses and our family life.
