In a country where Baptist theology is the default for American Christianity, Luther’s teaching on Baptism is critically needed by pastors, seminary students, and small-group leaders. While Luther’s catechisms address the topic of Baptism, his sermons on the subject are more comprehensive.
As readers discover Luther’s preaching on Baptism in Wittenberg from 1525 to 1539, they are immersed repeatedly in Scripture’s clear word that God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) is truly present in Baptism. Luther also articulates the divinely sanctioned power of Baptism to forgive and remove sin, as well as its efficacy throughout the life of the baptized. Luther on Holy Baptism equips readers to believe with certainty that God is the one who works life-saving miracles in Holy Baptism.

An Indispensable Guide to the Biblical View of Baptism
This carefully curated work fulfills the purpose that it advertises. Martin Luther emphasizes the work of God in our salvation through the means of Holy Baptism; whereby we are delivered from death, hell, and the grave, and are translated into the kingdom of God. The editor provides a great service to the Church by giving us the sermons where Luther unambiguously exegetes and demonstrates, by the various proofs of Scripture, that Baptism is not merely a symbol demonstrating obedience, but is, in fact, "life giving water". This work will be of use to you if you have ever struggled in traversing the confusing terrain of American Christianity with respect to Baptism. Luther's Gospel emphasis on Baptism is deeply refreshing, undeniably Biblical, and immensely edifying. Would highly recommend.
