Like most 12-year-olds, Chris has a lot of questions. When his grandfather visits, Chris turns to him for answers.

This book presents an overview of the book of Acts, featuring events and characters such as Pentecost, Peter, Stephen, the conversion of Saul, and Paul's missionary journeys. The third of a trilogy, it offers a clear understanding of growth of the early church, highlighting some of the challenges of carrying out the Great Commission--all under the guidance of God's grace through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Beautiful illustrations by Francisco Ordaz and an emphasis on scriptural truth combine to make this book a classic of Christian literature.

A Sweet Story

Paul Maier tells about the beginning of the Christian Church by way of conversation in this wonderful book. A young boy named Christopher and his grandfather are fishing together, when the conversation turns to how the Christian Church began. In very easy, conversational story form, the grandfather tells of all the major events. Included are Pentecost (and why it is called by that name), the martyrdom of Stephen, the conversion of Saul to Apostle Paul, the first Jerusalem Council and the missionary journeys of the early church. Each two page spread includes a full page illustration by Francisco Ordaz. These illustrations have the appearance of a fine art print. My only complaint about this book is that the Title on the hardcover is not in the same raised lettering as the dust jacket. A small quibble, I know, but I love beautiful books. This book is a keeper for family libraries.
