A Mighty Fortress is Our God
We used this piece with organ, choir, brass and timpani as our processional piece this Reformation weekend. It was awesome and we had a lot of great feedback. We only omitted the very first instrumental repeat since it is a long piece. We will use it next year again in the same way.

A Keeper
Our Festival Brass Ensemble had to bow out so we ran this piece sunday sans Brass by abbreviating the intro and not using the interlude between stz 3&4. It worked out quite nicely. I was impressed with the richness of the arrangement even without brass. I hope to use this at a combined 500 Anniversary Reformation Celebration next year. This stunning rendition will be just perfect for that event. J. Blersch is much sung and enjoyed by our choir. He seems to outdo himself with each new piece.

Excellent
This fresh setting is tuneful and energetic, without being too formal (or clever with the 3rd stanza). The choral and instrumental writing is accessible and flattering. The introduction is lovely, but lengthy for a tight service schedule on a festival Sunday with communion.

Stunning!
We used this in our Reformation celebration. It is a big piece, but it is accessible and glorious even with a smaller group. We will be using it again next year.

We sang this today at Our Savior Lansing with the choir from Concordia Ann Arbor - awesome arrangement for Reformation Sunday!
