John Eggert

John Eggert, a graduate of Concordia University in Nebraska, has earned advanced degrees from the University of Iowa (DMA in Organ Performance) and Northwestern University (MM in Organ Performance). His mentors include Delbert Disselhorst, Robert Lodine, Richard Enright, and Charles Ore (organ), Gerhard Krapf (organ and improvisation), and Theodore Beck (theory and composition.) Dr. Eggert is Professor Emeritus of Music at Concordia University, Saint Paul, MN where he taught organ, music theory, and composition. He has presented recitals and workshops for churches, colleges and chapters of the American Guild of Organists throughout the United States. His choral music includes hymn anthems, hymn concertos, psalm settings, and arrangements of African American spirituals. He also composed solo organ literature and music for organ and instruments.
