Diane J. Grebing
Diane J. Grebing has always felt most at home with a pencil and paper in hand. Her first stories were printed on scrap pads of paper from her father’s workplace and eagerly shared with a very patient and encouraging neighbor lady down the street. As a special education teacher in Illinois, Nebraska, and Missouri, Diane found herself rewriting lessons to meet the individual needs of her students. So began a career in curriculum writing that has now spanned over 25 years. While teaching students with special needs from ages infant through age 65 brings her great joy, in recent years Diane has concentrated on writing Christian curriculum for Concordia Publishing House. She considers it a great privilege to share Jesus’ saving love through the writing of seventeen Vacation Bible School courses and three LifeLight in-depth adult Bible study courses for CPH. She has also written a youth confirmation course called My Life in Jesus. In addition, Diane has contributed to Teachers’ Interaction, My Devotions, and has also written a curriculum sponsored by Lutherans for Life entitled, Celebrate the Life. Diane has spoken at local congregations about the process of writing curriculum for CPH and has also spoken concerning the spiritual development of children. Diane currently writes from rural southwestern Illinois where her husband Terry serves as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Bunker Hill. Her son, Eric, currently attends college and is studying to be an electrical engineer. Diane shares her writing space with a miniature dachshund named Klondike.
