Andrew H. Bartelt
Dr. Andrew Bartelt is professor emeritus of Exegetical Theology (Old Testament) at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Dr. Bartelt began his ministry at Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis and began teaching part-time at Concordia Seminary before being called to the faculty in 1978. His doctoral work was completed at the University of Michigan (PhD, 1991). He has served the seminary as academic adviser, department chair, dean of administration, and acting president. Dr. Bartelt taught in the areas of First Testament theology, interpretation, and proclamation, especially in prophetic literature and poetry. He also served on the pastoral staff of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, from which his “Sunday Morning” Bible class was broadcast on radio station KFUO. Dr. Bartelt holds the following degrees: B.A., Concordia Senior College, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
