William Schlegl
William Schlegl is a retired fourth grade school teacher who taught for 36 years in the Lutheran Parochial School System and the Quincy Public School System. He always tried to make school interesting for the children entrusted to his care and used many different activities that were not in textbooks to enrich their learning experiences. Out of this love for interesting activities came his desire to write religious puzzle activities. But what truly encouraged and inspired William to write were his Sunday School students, who always wanted to talk to their teacher about his puzzles. William feels he is surrounded by ideas--Sunday morning sermons, church bulletin boards, and, of course, Bible verses. Many of these ideas have become Bible puzzles and activities. In all of his writing, William’s main goal is always to keep Jesus Christ first. It is William’s hope and desire that all who use his books and activities would grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. In the process, William has written puzzles and activities for over 21 different denominational magazines and newspapers. He has also written a number of Bible puzzle books for Concordia Publishing House and created puzzles for Teachers Interaction, The Lutheran Witness, The Lutheran Journal, and others.
