Scott Ashmon serves as Assistant Provost for Undergraduate Education and Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Concordia University Irvine, where he has been a faculty member since 2007. As Assistant Provost, he supervises Concordia’s Enduring Questions & Ideas curriculum, general education, the Honors Program, and the Early College Program. He is a member of the Association for Core Texts and Courses, the Evangelical Theological Society, the Society of Biblical Literature, and the Society of Concordia Theological Faculties, and the Concordia University System task force for institutional identity and governance. Scott holds a B.A. in Theology from Concordia College in Portland, OR; an M.Div. and S.T.M. in Exegetical and Systematic Theology from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO; and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in the Hebrew Bible and Ancient Near East from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, OH.
