This collection of pastoral letters penned by Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison is a window into the heart of a man who cares deeply about the spread of the Gospel.
Overview What does it mean to be pastoral? Throughout his twenty-five years immersed in congregational life and the inner workings of the The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison learned a humbling thing or two about ministering to the people of God. Being a pastor always comes back to being a shepherd—loving the souls surrounding you and leading by conviction of God's Word of truth.
This collection of pastoral letters penned by Harrison is a window into the heart of a man who cares deeply about the spread of the Gospel and the pastors and church members who do just that on a daily basis. A majority of these letters are taken from The Lutheran Witness articles featured in the “from the president” section, issues September 2010–April 2016.
Each conversational and thought-provoking letter ties into the following topics:
Repentance
Forgiveness
The Bible
The Church
Congregational Life
Witness and Mission
Church and State
Family and Vocation
Prayer
Hope and Joy
Resurrection
