Kevin S. Golden

Kevin Golden is associate professor of exegetical theology (Old Testament) at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, where he has been a member of the faculty since 2021. He also serves as the dean of theological research and publication as well as the director of resident field education. Regularly presenting throughout the United States and internationally, his research focuses on the prophets, biblical theology, and biblical intertextuality. Dr. Golden previously served as pastor of Village Lutheran Church in Ladue, Missouri (2009–2021), and Grace Lutheran Church in Holts Summit, Missouri (2002–2009). His service in Christ’s church has included two terms on the praesidium of the Missouri District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). In addition, he helped found Calvary Lutheran High School of Jefferson City, Missouri, and has spent decades on the boards of directors for various entities of the LCMS as well as civic organizations. After receiving a B.A. in antiquities and religious studies from Missouri State University, Springfield (1995), Dr. Golden earned M.Div. (1999) and Ph.D. (2010) degrees from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He is the author of Blessed Be His Name: Revealing the Sacred Names of God (Concordia, 2021), Hosea - Concordia Commentary (Concordia, 2025), and a host of articles appearing in both scholarly and popular publications. He has been husband to Joy since 1997. Their union is blessed with seven living children.
