“Rock of Ages,” setting by Matthew Prins, is for 3–5 (6) octave handbells. This setting makes use of mart lifts and LV to create a contrast in articulation. There is also great contrast in the use of register in the melody as it gets passed from the treble to the bass. This selection works well for many Sundays after Pentecost, providing confident hope and comfort in Christ’s work on the cross.
