Effective imitative choral writing is integrated throughout this multi-movement cantata that unfolds the events of Passion week from the triumphant entry into Jerusalem, to the ultimate triumph on the cross of Christ. The cantata may be used in its entirety with narrator and congregation, or each piece may be extracted as an independent motet to be used throughout the liturgies of Holy Week.
