Music for organ, voices, brass, oboe, and percussion.
From My Perspective II is an assortment of compositions written by Dr. Charles W. Ore for Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany between 1976 and 1994. Ten of the pieces, including the commissioned works This Is My Son and How Lovely Shines the Morning Star, were written during Dr. Ore's 1993–94 sabbatical year.
Concerning the music, Dr. Ore states, While I am interested in all aspects of composition, it is primarily in the use of timbre, texture, and rhythm that I have tried to develop a style of writing that is indigenous to American culture yet reflective of historic traditions that have been used by composers for hundreds of years.
Those who have heard From My Perspective I (1991–92) will notice on this recording the new horizontal trumpet at St. John Church—Seward.
