Kevin J. Sadowski has composed “10 Hymn Preludes” for organ. Each of these preludes are unique and express the effect of each hymn text that the tune is connected to. ERHALT UNS, HERR and O HEILIGE DREIFALTIGKEIT are for manuals only. Sadowski solos out the melody on the pedal in CHRISTE, DER DU BIST TAG UND LICHT, O HEILIGE DREIFALTIGKEIT, and ST. CATHERINE. NOEL VOUVELET takes a different approach with cluster chords that are fun to play. These preludes are good for Christmas, Transfiguration, Lent, Easter, Trinity Sunday, as well as other Sundays after Pentecost. They work well as preludes, voluntaries, or postludes. Each one of these preludes are thoughtful and composed for the whole Church Year.
