These six settings for 2 octave handbells may be used throughout the year.
“Let His Praises Ring!” by Richard W. Gieseke is a group on six settings for 2 octave handbells. These hymn settings can be used throughout the year as preludes, voluntaries, or postludes. Love Came Down at Christmas (GARTON) and “Of the Father’s Love Begotten” (DIVINUM MYSTERIUM) work well at Christmas; “Come, You Faithful, Raise the Strain” (GAUDEMUS PARITER) can be used at Easter; and “O Christ, the Healer, We Have Come” (KENTRIDGE), “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” (EIN FESTE BURG), and “Sent Forth by God’s Blessing” (THE ASH GROVE) can all be used during most seasons of the Church Year. The parts are very accessible, especially for smaller handbell ensembles.
