As Lutherans interact with other Christians, they often struggle to explain their beliefs and practices. Although many Lutherans have learned the "what" of Lutheran doctrines, they do not always understand the "why." Based on God's Word as faithfully reflected in the Lutheran Confessions, this study will help you to state clearly what you believe.

This six-session study includes a leader guide, glossary of terms, comparison sections showing the beliefs of various denominations and church bodies, an appendix on the Psalms in worship, and an appendix of orthodox Lutheran teaching.

Rev. Dr. Steven P. Mueller is associate professor of theology and associate dean of the School of Theology at Concordia University, Irvine, CA. His book Not a Tame God (CPH, 2002) addresses the writings of C.S. Lewis.
