John A. Behnke has composed “Intrada and Postlude” for 3–5 octave handbells. These two pieces provide a nice contrast with a lively Intrada that uses running eighth notes and marts as well as table damps to create an exciting sound world and a more hymnodic postlude that is in four two to create a grander feeling. These pieces can be played separately or together. They can be used as a prelude, voluntary, or postlude for most any Sunday in the Church Year that is joyful.
