Church work is a unique calling. Many of the daily pressures and struggles that church workers face can only be understood by others who share this vital vocation. These brief devotions, written by church workers for church workers, address seven aspects of wellness: spiritual, vocational, physical, relational, intellectual, financial and emotional. This holistic approach to wellness reflects the reality that service in the church involves the whole person. While the topics may vary, the goal of these meditations is the same: the refreshing peace of God’s love in Christ. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matt. 11:28–29).
