
Brian T. German
The Rev. Dr. Brian T. German is associate professor and chair of the Department of Theology at Concordia University Wisconsin (Mequon). He received his bachelor of arts in preseminary studies from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2006 and his master of divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, Indiana) in 2010. Afterward he enrolled in doctoral work at Wycliffe College (Toronto, Ontario), where he completed his Ph.D. in biblical studies in 2014. In the same year, Dr. German was called to serve at Concordia University Wisconsin as a professor of theology and the director of the Concordia Bible Institute, a servant institute of the university that exists to provide Christ-centered Bible instruction to wide audiences. Dr. German teaches Biblical Hebrew and a variety of biblical books. His general area of research has been the history of biblical interpretation, with a particular focus on Luther’s Old Testament writings. He is author of Psalms of the Faithful: Luther’s Early Reading of the Psalter in Canonical Context (Lexham Press, 2017) and has articles published in various journals, including Vetus Testamentum, Journal for the Study of the Old Testament, Lutheran Forum, Concordia Theological Quarterly, and Logia: A Journal of Lutheran Theology.
