The Story Behind the Stoles
In the mid-1980s, a Guatemalan minister started a fair trade co-op to support a group of widows. Today, Mayan women and men of the Ruth and Naomi Project continue to weave and sew beautiful designs that reflect ancient native traditions.

The purchase of these stoles not only ensures sustainable wages for these artists but also preserves an ancient way of life and encourages education among their children and grandchildren.

The designs on these beautiful stoles combine the pastoral needs of the American clergy with the exquisite skills of Mayan men and women.
