The traditional hymn tune "Old Hundredth" is the basis for this stirring toccata.  A number of hymns of praise use this melody by Louis Bourgeois (c. 1510–c. 1561), and are useful throughout the church year.  this setting also makes a fine "splash" for the special concert or recital!
